John Berry's figures reflect a love of fantasy and folklore. His work is derived from Staffordshire figures, together with contemporary painting and sculpture.
The hand built individual pieces are made from buff stoneware clay, decorated with underglaze colours.
John Berry studied architecture at the University of Westminster, painting at Central St. Martins and ceramics at Wimbledon School of Art. He has work, including prints and drawings, in the collections of the Tate Gallery, London; The Imperial War Museum; The Welsh Arts Council; KLM Holland.
